Hedy head shot

As the director and primary instructor of Lake Merritt Yoga since 2010, I have organized and taught hundreds of yoga and mindfulness classes. I additionally teach weekly trauma informed dynamic mindfulness sessions in high school classrooms, focusing on building stress resilience, self awareness, emotion regulation, and healthy relationships. Please reach out if you're interested in discussing how I can help bring yoga and/or mindfulness to your school or office wellness programs.

I have also worked for nearly a decade in the early childhood education field, first in advocacy, then in practice and professional development. I have supported local school districts and other community partners in designing and implementing focused and aligned professional development models, planning and facilitating meetings, and creating systems for continuous improvement toward meeting teachers' needs, building teacher self-reflection on classroom practices, and tracking growth and progress.

Please email me if you would like to discuss how I can support your team.

"Hedy's warmth, intuition, and amazing facilitation skills enabled group members to co-create a safe, supportive space where we could explore authenticity and vulnerability. It was an honor to witness others, and a pleasure to be witnessed in a new way. I've participated in many groups and retreats, and this experience was one that stayed with me. Hedy's strong, centered leadership creates opportunities for healing, community, and growth."

-Amy, restorative circle participant

"Hedy's classes are accessible, inspirational, and supportive of students at all skill levels. Her instructions are clear, and she is generous with encouragement and humor. Hedy creates a safe and welcoming space to be present, stretching minds and bodies towards greater peace and authenticity."

Mindfulness and Movement

I have practiced yoga for over 20 years and earned my teaching certification in 2010. My personal practice and teaching focuses on using the breath to bring mindfulness and ease into all aspects of practice. My teaching is guided by first-hand experience of finding freedom through proper physical alignment, exploration of perceived boundaries, and honoring experience as it is; building strength, flexibility and awareness.

As a mindfulness meditation student and practitioner since 2009, I have experienced unimaginable discovery, opening, and deepening through this practice. It has expanded my mental capacity for presence, peace, and possibility, and I'm humbled to share these tools and experiences with anyone who would like to explore their own possibilities.

In addition to the weekly classes listed below, I am available to teach private personal and group yoga and mindfulness sessions. These can be ongoing or one-time classes or workshops. Classes can be tailored to meet the needs and desires of you and your group - including yoga, meditation, community and team building, and more.
